Chicago has a lot of Korean eateries and culture, including one all-vegan Korean restaurant, Amitabul, which is absolutely amazing (it's located out in the middle of nowhere). I really don't know much about Korean food...Alice and Friends Veg Restaurant is owned by Korean and Vietnamese folks, so I'm including most of their dishes on this page until I get to Amitabul a few more times.

Alice and Friends Himalayan Spirit...root vegetables with mock beef on skewers, bento-style.	Alice and Friends Kabobs. This photo does no justice to them; they're everyone's favorite dish there.	Alice and Friends Bi Bim Bop w/ Tofu. Famous Korean dish; somewhat bland but okay. Spicy sauce.


Amitabul Sweet Curry Noodle. Mild, had some apple and pear in it. Flavor was good, but Vanessa didn't care much for it.	Amitabul Dr. K's Cure-All Soup. This spicy miso-y vegetable soup kicked my ass but didn't cure my cold. Did I mention spicy?	Amitabul Vegan Egg Rolls. These weren't fried, but steamed. Not my favorite ever, but interesting and worth a try.


Alice and Friends Sweet Tang Su. I prefer Sweet Poon Tang myself, but whatever. This was so-so.	Amitabul Buddha 3 Luck. Not minty or maple-y like the menu promised, but still very tasty. Brown rice cake is interesting.	Alice and Friends Almond Un-Chicken. Great, breaded-and-fried texture, if not a very diverse dish.


Alice and Friends Full Moon. I'm not crazy about this white sauce that ANF uses on almost everything. Haven't tried this dish.	Alice and Friends Tofu with beansprouts. I think there were also pine nuts in here. Pretty good.	Alice and Friends Korean-Style BBQ. Similar to Kabobs, but not as good. Get the kabobs instead.

Go immediately to Amitabul, Chicago's all-vegan Korean restaurant.
