VEGAN
vegan ethiopian & african food

I say Ethiopian before the more-inclusive African, because most of what you'll see here is Ethiopian. My girlfriend and I absolutely LOVE Ethiopian food (it's very vegan-friendly) but have less experience with other African cuisines. Ethiopian food is eaten communally, with everyone eating off of the same platter, picking up pieces of the tasty food with the spongy "injera" bread.

Sheba Cafe
Sample platter with cabbage, potatoes, red lentils, salad, etc. Good, but weird service.
Ethio Cafe
Different buffet trip on a different day, lots of overlap. Sambusas are esp. great.
Ras Dashen
Sampler platter with several different options. Lots of pulses, but great fresh veggies too.

Buffet trip #1, all kinds of potatoes, lentils, rice, veggies and salads. So good!
Ras Dashen
Sampler platter from another visit. It's always exceptional, (and close to my house).

African Hut (Milwaukee)
Some kind of "fufu", a spongy and bland bread, with peanut veggie stew. Interesting.
African Hut (Milwaukee)
Vegetarian sampler with peanut stew, spinach, rice and (non-vegan) cornbread.
Handlebar
African ground nut stew with veggies. Decent, but a little bland.
