RESUME
miscellaneous / weird

A random assortment of strange/interesting/disturbing signs that I've encountered.

NOTE: I haven't added new photos to this section of the site in a few years; with the purchase of a digital camera the quantity of sign photos got to be too overwhelming. I've started uploading sign photos to Flickr, click here to see my newer photos tagged with "funny sign." See also my tag of "great typography."

12/01, Brooklyn, NY. That's one angry-looking dog. Saw this sign while searching for scooter shop in old industrial neighborhood near the river.
2-02, Hwy 60 near Richmond, VA. Nice feeling of creepiness from this one.
(Probably Hwy. 65) In northern Iowa, near Mason City.

2000. No shit. Princess Anne Rd., Norfolk, VA. Still in business; (not much of an Asian community here).
2001. Orlando, FL. Very interesting, slopped-together-looking multilingual street sign.
12-01. NYC. Another interesting multilingual sign, this one composed of... rainbow... sequins?
10/01, Shenandoa NP. Jean "the Hitch-Hiker" Gaultier poses by an ominous Bear Country warning sign.

12/01, Off-ramp from New Jersey Turnpike, NYC. Kind of blurry, but has a nice quality. Another turnpike gem.
3/01. North Carolina strip-club "Southern Nites" next to a motel w/ nice sign. Lordy Lordy, Joyce is 40!
Mmmm...Blood Worms! Hell-hole Eastern Shore, VA, near bridge-tunnel.

Somewhere in North Carolina, I think. Strange remnant on now-homogenized strip (Wal-Mart in backgd).
3/01, Orlando, FL. This one struck me as really weird for some reason, almost foreign.
1997. 1-94, Wisconsin...I want to say Mauston. Actual tractor/trailer used in signpost.

Nice cluster. Trip to North Country w/ Simonson and Draplin, I think. Anyone?
1997. Yes, Weird Al fans, it's the Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota. Darwin, MN. The sign on the highway is better than the real thing.
1999. Michigan, just a few miles south of the Mackinac bridge on Hwy 31. Click here for description.
