I spent March-August 1998 studying abroad in Osaka, Japan. I lived with the Kuze family in Kyoto (a beautiful and historic former capitol city, the pride of Japan) and studied graphic design at the Sozosha College of Design. Needless to say I very much enjoyed living there. I still study Japanese and hope to move back, at least for a couple of years, to become fluent in the language and help popularize the idea of vegetarianism and animal rights there.
