Gotham Scooter Rally, Williamsburg, Chinatown and more - NYC 05 - page 4

I attended the Gotham scooter rally in NYC in May, 2005. I stayed with friends Simon and Sondra in Williamsburg Brooklyn and met up with fellow Michigander and Paw Pawn Joseph X. Burke for a walking tour of northern Williamsburg, some of Queensbridge, Roosevelt Island, Midtown Manhattan and Chinatown NY. Great times in an amazing city, thanks to all involved.

One of the nicest signs I've seen in a while, there's a lot to study here.

More subway mosaics, this one is newer I thin. Not as ornate as collowing example, but WAY better than the shit most cities have now. Older subway mosaic, Canal St. Now in Chinatown, NYC.

I love all the metal outlining of so much sign lettering in NYC, adds a lot of interest.

My favorite was the mock pork (BBQ flavor) just below center here. Great stuffm though it was all good. We ate duck, pork, shark's fin, shrimps and more, all vegetarian (meat analogs).

Breast cream, pretty hot. Beautiful hand-written sign, I think it says "Chinatown Barber This Way."

Joe recalled a sketchy midnight spent at Video Gameland in Chinatown, so we went in to check it out and play some games.

Joe is a real pro at this video disco game called Super Video Dance Champ or somesuch. Another video clip of Dance Jam Master Joseph. Dadly I had to leave, Joe saw me to the Metro North train at Grand Central where I took this commuter rail out to White Plains.

Nice tile lettering. Small airports are sweet because Security is a breeze, you don't get lost running 2 miles to your terminal, and there may be adorable coffee shops like this one upstairs.
