| Stopped at Panda Garden on Grace St. for some excellent mock-meat Chinese food. Here the cook uses big fire and works his magic to prepare our dishes. |
My General Tso's Mock Chicken. Not as good as in previous visits, a 6 out of 10. Still tasty though. |
Vanessa's Panda Special LoMein, also not as good or as smoky as I remembered it. 6/10. |
Vanessa attempts to forget the vileness of the bathroom and give Panda Garden a chance. |

| Mr. Able LP Gas sign, abandoned gas station, Hwy 5. |
Driving back on highway 64. It's all divided and clean like this, no billboards, but boring, and you have to watch for cops in the median. |
Fishing Pier, (pier now gone apparently) Ocean View, Norfolk. |

| Tal made Vanessa and I a dee-licious dinner of crispy orange-ginger chicken with spinach and rice. To die for! |
JR Gault tries his hand at Upper Deck at the Ghent Inn, my favorite nightspot in Norfolk. |
More of the same, from another angle. The certificates on the wall are all "Certificates of Marital Hard Knocks," listing (often numerous) divorces. |
Matt Partridge shootin' some Upper Deck as the crowd goes wild. |

| JR, Vanessa, Cholly and Matt share a cozy formica booth near a porthole window at the Ghent Inn. |
And another. |
Clandestine shot of the Ghent Inn, longer exposure. Proprietor Walter can be seen at the end of the bar, often doing small-engine repair. |
A similar shot of the bar area. |

| Matt makes his selections on the jukebox, surely one of the finest in the area. Play "Whispering Pines," "Sweet Virginia," "Put a Spell on You" and something by George Jones for me. |
Vanessa enjoys Jean's conversation. |
JR treats us all to some frustrated sighs and a few rolls of the eyes. |
Jean sets up his shot and fires it in like a professional. |

JR throws some darts, Ghent Inn. |
Wall near the dartboard, has it ever seen the light of day? |
Matt and JR take turns throwing darts in my direction; sorry for the blurry shot. |

| Jean has a special technique where he throws the darts from the wrong end, but it works well. |
Lambert's Point Cargo Terminal. The smell here can be nauseating if the wind is right. I used to live close enough to know, believe me. |
Sadly it's "goodbye" to Norfolk. Flying out, looking east towards the ocean some 8-10 miles distant. |
Ocean View and part of Willoughby Spit from the place. |

My neighborhood from the plane, you can see where the northern end of LSD terminates, and theThorndale beach just to the north. |
From Lake Michigan to about Western Avenue, and about Peterson to Foster. My house and Scooterworks are in there; the "park" is Rosehill cemetery. |
