Kurt made friends with that dog too. Notice Kurt's tight-fittin' clothes and expensive shoes, he like it like that. You know his steez. We drove around the block a second time to capture this Champion. We stopped the car, I pointed the camera out the window, and he didn't even notice. Amazing in so many ways. Ryan and Kurt near their new painting studio downtown, inspecting the offerings of a costume shop. Looks like Ryno's just about to buck Kurt... Part of Michael Gaughan's show at the Soap Factory gallery. Totally sweet and beautiful.

Detail of one of Michael Gaughan's pieces. We tried going to Scooterville but they were closed, so Ryan "whipped shitties" in the gravel parking lot instead. Got to love the backdrop. Evil Tower of Death, Midway area. One of many in the cities. Liquidation signage, St. Paul.

Beautiful sign with portrait and nice lettering, St. Paul. Detail of touching portrait. Almost makes you forget that the guy's business is based on misery and bloodshed. We stopped for Vietnamese at a place I'd been to once before (in Frogtown). Here's the condiment offerings and K + R in the mirror. My dish, "Spicy mock duck with Lemongrass." Or at least it would've been, if they'd given me mock duck instead of tofu. Waaaay heavy on the MSG, not very good.

Ryan's dish, "Kung Pao Tofu," which came with Mock Duck. Also not great. Ryno and Kurt chowing down. Kurt doesn't like spicy, so why does he have the Hot Cock sauce so close at hand? An attempt at getting us all in the photo. Exterior of where we ate. The lettering is nice and creepy...unfortunately the other sign is a pack of lies. It wasn't cheap, comfortable, or fantastic.

The now-abandoned Town Talk diner on Lake St. Apparently it went under when a motherfucking Denny's moved in across the street. Another sad tale...this place was NICE. Who knows what will happen to that sign... Poor shot of the Park-Lake Car Wash, a local landmark and one of the finest and best-maintained old signs around. More Lake Street scenery, an old Art Deco car place that's still sort-of kicking it. This used to be Smoke in the Pit, one of the most beautiful signs you've ever seen. This one isn't nearly as good, but still noteworthy for the graphics.

Mexican restaurant with great signage, Lake St. Outstanding mural on fishing/sporting good store, Lake Street. The artist left their name and phone number in the corner, give them a call. Some dudes representing they whips (and matching orange velour sweatsuits) at the K-Mart parking lot, Lake and Nicollet. Ryan almost killed a cute rollerblading girl with his car. Then we chased her halfway around the lake trying to get a shot of her. This was the best of about 15 attempts...

Some dayglo hessian bicyclist, Lake Calhoun. Downtown Minneapolis from Lake Calhoun. Java Restaurant with a shameful new sign. Beautiful place and wonderful neighborhood though, I miss it. One of the five dozen or so odd little oriental markets near "Eat Street," 28th and 1st.
