vegan/veg. roommate wanted

Well, since the last update Vanessa has signed a lease on a new place for October 1st. She's moving to Ukranian Village and frankly I'm jealous of the neighborhood, she's a lot closer to downtown and shares the area with a greater variety of people than I do here in "The Village In a City!". This apartment is very nice and the neighborhood is perfectly fine and conveniently-located, it's just not terribly exciting or "urban"...but that might be a selling point because it is so quiet and safe.

I'm looking for a roommate for October 1st or soon thereafter, I would prefer another vegan but am also open to vegetarians. The rent would be $450 plus half of the utilities (an additional $20-30/month, landlord pays heat) for the person moving in. The apartment is 1.5 blocks from the Addison Brown Line train stop, about 100 feet from a Damen Avenue bus stop or the Addison bus, street parking is readily available, it's fairly quiet and really safe. It's within walking distance of Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. The apartment has hardwood floors throughout and is somewhat furnished (this is flexible, I don't have a ton of furniture so you can bring some if you have it). I don't really care which bedroom I have, I can take the smaller one if need be. The person must like cats (and not have any of their own), because I have two.

I have a cable modem, if you have a computer we may be able to split the line somehow and share it(?). If you have one of those modern wireless deals you may just be able to pick up someone else's signal nearby, other people have done this. Interested parties should e-mail me at pjchmiel_at_yahoo_dot_com to arrange a visit.

In other news we're hopefully going to pick up the Ramblin' Man scooter this weekend from the painter. Should be really amazing, Will is an old buddy from college and has had the bike for over a year now so I'm anxious to get it back. The Slaughterhouse scooter rally was last weekend and that was a lot of fun. I'm finished with the Second Chance Tour Stella, it has enough miles to go to California now and be reunited with its rightful driver, Dave Lee. We sold Vanessa's Metropolitan a few weeks ago and I'm back on the Death Dealer full-time now. Good.

Saw a couple movies recently, 9 Songs by Michael Winterbottom and 2046 by Wong Kar Wai. The former was okay, mostly just alternating footage of rock concerts in England and fairly explicit sex scenes in some bloke's flat, interesting for a while but a bit unsatisfying overall. 2046 was visually gorgeous and captivating if a bit long, wall-to-wall with exceptionally good-looking people, costumes and sets. I don't think I could ever get tired of looking at Zhang Ziyi onscreen, what a stunner. Tony Leung and Faye Wong are nothing to sneeze at either. Definitely worth watching.
