Let's see, what's new... Just finished the graphics for the new "special edition" Stella that should be here in time for the holidays (sorry, can't show it). Am also wrapping up a holiday mailing for Scooterworks, no big deal, just a 2-sided 11x17 flyer in CMYK.
On the home front, we continue to acquire furniture and decorate/improve the apartment. No houseguests yet, but soon. Did have a wonderful mini-reunion with William, a dear friend from PETA, and his friend and fellow activist Annie while they were in town last week. Vanessa is enjoying her new job immensely, as well as her ballet classes, so she's happier than she's been in a long time.
I've actually been updating my website a little bit here and there, the Vegan section to be precise. I felt compelled to after realizing how prominently it pops up in Google. For instance, doing a search for vegan food photos or an image search for Chinese food, Ethopian food, Indian food, vegan desserts or soul food (at the present time) yields photos from my site on the first page of hits. That's pretty crazy, and gives me a feeling of grave responsibility in keeping up with the improvement of that section. So I've recently updated the Chinese, Korean (yay Amitabul!) and Indian sections, with more soon to follow.
I recently submitted my first yet-unlisted movie information to imdb, for a rare (and rightfully so, because it was absolutely awful) 80s action dud called Day of the Survivalist. Search for it in a couple of weeks, review to follow later. I was impressed and frustrated at what a chore it is to submit a new film to imdb, it's no joke...took me well over an hour. But it makes me proud to have contributed, however dreadfully, somehow...to the pool of human knowledge.
I'm going to the Morrissey concert tomorrow night to hand out literature with PETA; probably won't get to meet the man himself but will feel good about doing something vaguely proactive for animals. Shouldn't be a hard sell with that crowd. By the way, PETA has an excellent and beautiful new site at VegCooking.com.
Saturday morning I fly to New Orleans to meet up with Draplin for the "Dirty South Up The Ole Miss" leg of his 50-day cross-country trip. Really wish Ryno had been able to make it, but short notice and prior commitments meant it wasn't to be. Can't wait, I'm sure to have a lot of great photos and stories when I return on Tuesday.
