Lots of News, No Time to Write it

Since it's been an awful long time since the last update, I just wanted to say that I'm alive and well. Vanessa and I have moved into our new apartment in the Roscoe Village/Northcenter area of the city (a much nicer location, in the scheme of things). We recently had a trip to MI (drove around Lake MI and saw a few family members back home), photos of that will be posted soon. Purchased a new machine, so the updates will start happening more regularly, and more importantly from home. The cable modem should be installed in a week or so. As previously mentioned, the catalog is done and has gotten a lot of favorable reviews, and the vegetarian cookbook is also very nearly finished, so I will be going home from work at a "normal" time and hopefully resuming some semblance of a social life. My Stella scooter is being painted a chocolate brown two-tone (think "70s van theme") with some pinstripes and a little airbrush artwork to finish it off, and that should be back to me and ready for re-assembly sometime within the next few weeks.

Just settling into the new place, putting stuff away, buying new stuff, trying to learn how to use OS X after 11 years of using OS 6-9... 200+ photos of the MI trip will be posted sometime relatively soon, and I'm even starting to think about redesigning my whole site (it's only been 3+ years w/ the same design). I'm trying to learn more about CSS and web standards, reading Zeldman's book, thinking of how to streamline and show more photos (especially sign photos, which I have hundreds more of). That is still a pipe dream, but I see it happening before the end of the year.

Hey PJ! Glad to hear everything is going well. Good luck in your new place. I'll be in Chicago for work in September. (IMTS Show) Maybe we can all meet up!

Hey, I got the catalogue in the mail. Looks very good. I especially liked the "navigational" element of the scooter drawing with highlighted parts on whatever section was being featured. The stuff on the side was well thought out and helped the system. Good choice of type and it had your style represented. The only criticism is they gave you way too much info and stuff to fit in. Also, there seemed to be some strange cheesecake/sexual innuendos that didn't seem to be your copy writing. I might be in the area late August as well.

(which i did tell you about it, right?) we moved here on the 13th, and this is already the second week that ulli's teaching at our good ol' school MCAD. she's gotta two 3-D foundation classes, and "narative scuplture" class. she is doing great so far... and i would come here in the library to check e-mails since our DSL hasn't set up yet. and i would run into people here there.... so nice to be back here. totally feels at home....

Dude, you're getting comments spam. You should go through and turn off comments on all your old posts, this is the scourge of keeping a weblog (I learned the hard way).
