Okay, you asked for it, so here's a lousy update. I added two new movie reviews at the bottom, as well as a long-overdue link to Clint Eastwood's homepage, a site of the highest caliber that I would encourage you all to spend some serious time at.
I was out sick for about two days last week, which pissed me off because I very rarely get sick, maybe a mild flu once a year or so. Spent a lot of time sleeping and some time reading and/or watching whatever was on television. If it wasn't for IFC, Sundance, the Chicago Municipal station, and a couple others, I'd be glad to be rid of cable with its myriad of bad choices. I liked my non-cable selection just fine, with the 2 korean channels, the chinese channel, the five or so spanish-speaking channels, 2 public access stations, and one that seemed to change nationality every hour. When Vanessa and I move in together, I think we agree that we will not have cable.
It's true that Massimo fixed some of the scooter's problems, but the motherfucker is a neverending source of woe (and evening projects) for me. The front brake lever broke off and I replaced it, but now there is no front brake (I think it may be getting locked inside the drum). Also, I think I might've fried the electrical system tonight, shorting out the red battery wire with a ratchet as I was putting on the spare tire...lots of noxious smoke. I'm seriously considering the purchase of a MIG welder, I just discovered that you can get one for $150-300. How exciting! I could weld the sonofabitch up like an A-Team assault vehicle and make furniture and stuff. Not a definite plan yet, but a big maybe.
I've been working a lot of hours lately (7 days/week, well into the evenings). I'm hungry, and off to my scooter club meeting now at Carol's. A receptive audience there who knows all-too-well the pleasure and pain that is vintage Vespa ownership.
