Well friends, I've been sitting here for almost 5 hours (after my 9-hour workday ended of course), cracking down on the goddamn eagerly-anticipated and long-ago-promised Vegan Food Section. Still have nearly 50 more photos to add, but at least all of the sections (or placeholders in the case of breakfasts and fusion food) are represented now and will be enriched in the coming months.
Most ironic is that while I sit here and hunger and thirst, looking at all of these luscious photos of many excellent meals sent to hell, I had a crust of wheat bread and about 4oz. of water as my nourishment for the evening. Whatever, it's to a point where I don't mind uploading the new stuff, so I hope somebody enjoys it. I was planning on doing laundry tonight, but it's too facking cold to ride down to Spin Cycle with my dirty duds (Laundryland, my "local" laundromat closes at 9pm).
I have a similarly-shameful and backlogged amount (probably 2 or 3x what I have for food photos actually) of photos to add to my neglected Signs section, but I can only do one thing at a time, and the Vegan food section was badly in need of attention.
I'm also proud to say that most of my holiday cards have been mailed out; I only have 10 more to send (out of a list of over 90 people). 10 went in the mail today and about 8 a few days before that, so you may be getting one soon if you're wondering what is up with my lyin' ass.
I spent the last two full evenings rasslin' around with the Death Dealer; the sonofabitch just doesn't want to treat me right in this bastardly cold weather. I installed a new carburetor, fuel line, choke cable, choke knob, battery, and fuck only knows what else. Also got some more strawberry-scented oil so's my smoke is sweet-n-savory. I'm tired and have to get home before I collapse in front of this godforsaken monitor. Hope you are well, love you.
Posted by pj at January 15, 2004 10:46 PMDamn man. My mouth is starting to water from looking at some of these photos, brings back some memories too. Good stuff. Comprehensive.
Posted by: Naz at January 15, 2004 11:47 PMYour food photos are like porn to me!
Posted by: Ida at January 16, 2004 07:54 PMNew engine, new carburetor, new choke cable, new choke nob, new battery, I even think your seat is relatively new!
Going back over the last year, if you had known of all the time, effort, blood, sweat, and MONEY you'd be putting into "The Death Dealer", would you still do it all over again or would you have bought a new one? Maybe none of that matters because it's exactly what you want. Would a new one have presented the same challenges?
Just curious!

Posted by: Trogdor at January 17, 2004 08:06 PMTerry,
I would probably still have done all I've done to this scooter. The fact is, it suits me pretty well...it's old, dirty, cranky, rusty, unattractive, tempermental, and it doesn't really matter if it gets knocked over. A new scooter would offer more reliability, which would be great, but I'd be worried about the paint being scratched, someone hitting it or wanting to steal it, etc. Using a scooter for everyday transport in a big city is a bitch, and takes its toll on the machine. I'd rather it was on an old beater with character. My scooter is also a fair amount more "custom" than any new one I could buy.
Volleys, my name is Andrea Biello I have and I have been Vegan for many years, now am 27 years old and have overdraft after many years of research that actually a Vegano does not involve any death decrease of animals. I have tried to have it understood to my friends but the only thing they have given me has been a fist to the Zigomatic bone. I hope that a day everybody we find out that Vegans being does not involve any salvation. For respect I will keep on bringing my site up to date: www.biello.it

Second languages aside, I totally don't get the Biello post. Are you suggesting that being vegan doesn't help out the little criters? Or that vegans are seeking salvation? I feel pretty confident in saying neither of those ideas make any sense to me.
