Miscellany

What's new...I went out for dinner with a Friendster named Amanda last night, and that was a very nice time. We had thai food at Thai Classic, which Liz claims is the best in Chicago, but I think it's just average. We shared a pleasant scooter ride (the best in summer) and good conversation. She's also a Michigander, which almost guarantees she's "good people." Coincidentally she also has a Vespa scooter and doesn't smoke/drink/drug, plus she smelled good. A nice girl indeed.

I'm going to finally produce my "cards for any occasion," with some slight revisions to copy and a re-working of the front image. These will be Gocco printed and distributed to a bunch of people whose birthdays I've fallen short on.

Tonight I'm meeting my (step)cousin Chris Coffinger who visiting town from God's Country (Iron Mountain, MI). I wouldn't mind spending a weekend up there myself. Haven't seen Chris in probably over 10 years, so it should be fun...I feel like I barely know him.

I'm considering a ride to Michigan next weekend for a 2 or 3 day visit. Indiana: watch your goddamn mangy ass. Paul and Isaac: Get ready for a trip to Decatur, you know what I'm talking about. About 3 weekends after that I hope the Deathdealer will carry me (12 hours or more) all the way up to Minneapolis, where there's a scooter rally. Riding up with Scooterworks mechanic and madman extraordinaire Rob Hodge. It'll be an endurance test for sure. Ryan: get the goddamn scurvy couch ready.

Finally, Andy Maniotes is in Europe right now doing a design workshop and he'd really appreciate it if you'd take some fucking time to leave a goddamn comment or critique, since he contributes to your motherfucking site all the sonofabitching time.

We need to hit Reits and Busy Bee. Don't count on Decatur, but we can go to that scooter shop I told you about. The chinese restaraunt in Mattawan that you said was so good is open again as well.

Flea markets are wonderful and we will definitely go to those, but I'm TOTALLY counting on a night at Scooters Showgirls in Decatur. You bastards owe me that after all these trips home. I'll pay your goddamn ways if I have to. Hong Kong Palace? I went there last time I was home, it's decent.

Dude. Let me know when you're a-plannin' on rollin thru. You can hitch your scooter up in front, I'll fill the trough with some fresh water.

I'm hoping its not the weekend of Aug. 8th., cuz' I'm spending a bunch of money I don't have to go to Californ-yeah for a ball-and-chain hitchin.'

Real nice timing. Goddamnit. Looks like I'll have to hang my hat elsewhere...Kurt? Sunshine? Tent on the MCAD "quad?"

Is the Lion's Den on the way? Or is that after? I can never remember where it is, and I *swear* I've never been there. You can bet I've been to that gas station across the street hundreds of times, though. They sell those ancient States of the Union magnets that truckers collect. I like my Utah one the best - it has a beehive on it. And the women's bathroom has a 5ft door. I feel like a goddamn giant going in there.

You've got to be fucking kidding me. The only fucking weekend I'm out of town the whole goddamn summer. Tell them to re-schedule that shit.

Your ass is in town to hang, and I'll be at muscle beach with Terdling. Fuck.

Ryno,

Enough of the small talk. Get back to work. You are on the clock, motherfucker.

Thanks, be warned.

I just realized you were probably referring to the weekend of the 26th for that Michigan trip. Unfortunately I won't be in town.
