Had a busy weekend and then some. Jesus, I can't even remember back to my last posting, but I know that I went out for Ethiopian food on Thursday with a nice girl named Ellen. The food and conversation were both great, but the scooter gave me hell and "played dead" in front of her, so that was a nice embarassing finale.
Friday I got my electronics straightened-out and only worked half a day, because we left for the Rockford "Scooter Piracy II" Rally at about 2pm. Had a great ride out there, the Death Dealer (surprisingly) really did me right and gave me no trouble whatsoever. Weather was fantastic, scenery was great. An incredible rally overall, for several reasons: a pirate theme, lots of activities, a good little town to explore, presence of female scooterists, presence of female non-scooterists, too many strip clubs to name, a nice hotel room (with Silent Ron) that did not stink of feet/beer/ass/coverup cologne, a marked lack of teabagging, and the pleasure of having quality people all around. Much respect to the SCSC for hosting us and putting it together. I saw three different people get tossed from their scooters (one totally drunk and foolish, the other two just clutch mishaps) but fortunately nobody was hurt. We had conversations with strippers and hessians, and the quote of the week goes to a drunken woman who walked by a group of us on the sidewalk and casually remarked to herself, "What, are y'all GAY or somethin?" We had a nice ride home on Sunday (beautiful weather all around) and I was glad to be home. See mine and other photos here.
When I got home, I was treated to an evening of conversation with Vanessa, who, passing through town, had inhabited my apartment for the weekend in my absence (and took care of the cats). We ate a lovely "fusion" type dinner at the Lula Cafe in Logan Square, as well as watching some real-life breakdancing nearby on the street. We also stopped at Earwax for tea and ended the night with one of the funniest things I've ever seen, British comedian Ali G's movie. I can't easily explain him or his comedy, it must be seen to be appreciated...but I haven't laughed out loud that many times in ages. Looking back, it was a good few days and I'm thankful for it all.

Glad to hear you got the Death-Dealer running top notch again and you're enjoying it.
Hope your girl luck keeps getting better and the hottest girl(to you) flops right into your life! You deserve it!
Keep on Truckin!
Posted by: Uncle Terry at July 15, 2003 10:58 AMI forgot to add that while attempting to "fix" the scooter on the side of the road after dinner on thursday, I got the electrical shock of my young life. Had me shaking my left arm and exclaiming "MOTHER-FUCKER!" for a good five minutes thereafter. You'd be surprised what a jolt you can get from 12v and a new LML flywheel. Now my hair and beard have turned white as snow. You can just call me "Kenny" from now on.
Posted by: PJ at July 15, 2003 12:52 PMWill we get to see this beard?!

Maybe nobody is posting on the goofy dutch design workshop website because it is an un-navigable pile of tripe. Who can figure out what the hell is going on with that aesthetic disaster? Hello - what have we here? A bunch of ugly type in a rainbow of assorted prang crayon colors and some nonsense text. It looks like a pile of shit — as such, no one really wants to take the time to search through the chaos to find anything.
Not like my awesome site!
