My Way is Heavy Metal.

Last night I saw the most-anticipated concert event of 2003, Metalucifer (Part of the Heavy Metal Samurai Tour). I'm not a concert-goer, usually averaging less than 5 per year. You know, quality over quantity...besides, most of the music I like isn't made by contemporary acts.

Well, Metalucifer was worth the wait, worth the admission, worth sitting through three and a half hours of other "warmup" bands, and even the dull ringing in my ears and poor hearing today (really hoping that goes away, and is not permanent damage). Since I'm an amateur concert-goer, I didn't think to bring earplugs. Most of the crowd had hair long enough to muffle the screaming guitars and thundering drums. I could feel the bass moving the fabric of my clothes, too. An unforgettable, awesome experience. Photos are here. Thanks to Vanessa for giving me the heads-up Re: this concert tour, and no thanks to any of my lousy friends from work who didn't show. They don't know what kind of Heavy Metal they missed.

Dude, PJ, some russian Ice dancer called and said you had borrowed his shit. He saw you wearing it in your metalucifer "fan shot," and wondered if he could get it back. He already lost it for several months to a circus acrobat and had just gotten it back before leaving it on your floor. Please call him.

PJ,
Nice tank top shot with the band. Still...I think back to the movie "PCU" and a great line "You're going to the concert wearing the shirt of the band you are seeing? Don't be that guy."
;)

Peace and Harmony,

I hope Metalucifer let you watch as they banged their roadies in the back of their van, cigarette in mouth, beer in one hand, a titty in the other. Their drummer is hott. I really enjoyed the naked photo of him on their website. I would gladly link your fine readers to that particular photo, but in spite of your insistance that it does, the html linking still does not work here, much to Ryno's dismay (me, I'm just pointing it out for technicalities sake). Example of a non working hyper html link-

Thank you for your time.

Great picture! You guys crack me up!

um, so, i always wondered if metal dudes ever do damage to their eyeballs when they're buggin like that. i mean, somehow they get them to stick out like big ol' bullfrog eyeballs, which to a sensible person like myself seems like it would bruise somthin. eyeballs is tender, ya know? maybe that's what it takes to be a metal dude. eyeballs of steel.

ahem.

Posted by: sr at June 27, 2003 11:52 AM

Eyeballs of steel! I've wondered the same.

Kurt, I believe you have to actually do the "a href" thing likey dis:

Nekkid drummer boy

Hi Renee, thank you for commenting. Naz, thanks for the clarification. Kurt, I thought you knew some basic HTML. Ryan, fuck off about the shirt, it's the best I could do at the last minute, given the situation and resources at hand. I should've just sprayed the stencil on my skin and gone bare-chested, but hindsight is 20-20. Maniotes, thanks for bringing some bad movie that I've never seen to the table. Uncle Terry, glad to see you're still checking-in. Good people, all of you—and I appreciate the comments, for better or worse.

Aw PJ, don't be sore at me about computer shiite. I already have a deteriorating relationship with my girlfriend for html's sake.

Are you proud of me now or just annoyed?

Posted by: Kurz at June 27, 2003 12:56 PM

Proud as can be. That image is a pretty hot topic; one of my co-workers found it and made it his goddamn desktop wallpaper. Sorry, but I'm just giving my people what they have been clamoring for.

You can also use an a href="milf.jpg" target="_blank" to launch it in a new window.

Posted by: PJ at June 27, 2003 01:09 PM

I tried, but I still couldn't get this to pop up in a new window?

You can be disappointed in my failure, just like my girlfriend is disappointed in our relationship. At least I am trying.

NICE! Nothing like sitting in my office alone laughing my ass off at PJ's leap into dogfart (NSFW) voyeurism. Wow!

And, where the hell did the band play, your basement? That's awesome. My favorite post so far!

PS. Moveable type strips the "target" option from the (a)nchor object.

Ryno's "Russian Ice Dancer" slam may be one of the finest this sonofabitch has come across in a long, long time. Pure poetry outta that cocksucker.

All had a good laugh around the office.

Seriously Philip, be careful. That sort of fit-n-fashion might people off real bad.

what i find most disturbing about the b-on-b shot is that my mom and dad have that exact same rug in their living and dinning rooms. i grew up dancing and singing to mj/madona on the damn thing.

I love that the dude leaves his ball cap on during the whole thing.

Excellent.

PJ,
The comment section on the most recent entry after this one is not working or not viasable.

Sorry about teh scooter date as cancelled dates suck. If she stood you up, write her off as disrespectful.

Bliss,

PJ,
Moveable type appear to not be your friend again- I typed "Maniotes" as the name on my last post and it posted "PJ"? It was a mere few seconds ago, so I'm sure I typed in the right box. What the hell? Problems with text fields?

Sorry for the confusion.

Maniotes, the comments section was purposely disabled for that post; didn't need the peanut gallery's mockery on something that requires no feedback. You might've noticed that Draplin does that on certain posts as well. Not sure why it put "PJ" as your name--I've noticed weird cache issues with other web form fields on other sites (MT blogs included). Just double-check it before you hit "Post" I guess.

Hudson, I can't tell you what a pleasure it always is to get your spin on things. We're all grateful for the words of wisdom...do check back often and write to your heart's content.

PJ,
Don't let some broad ruin your day. They're a dime a dozen. Buck up, sissy.

Banging roadies in the back of the van?

I guess you weren't in the van but the people driving the van, the people setting up for metalucifer and the people using our equipment were me and Tony, I was in the van the whole time I don't know what your talking about.
